our labor day

our three day weekend was pretty jam packed, what about yours?
I would have enjoyed a leisurely nap or two, but we had tons of fun.

we were lucky and had Luke's cousins, Graham and Audrey come to visit! (with their parents, of course) Luke loved having a few playmates around
(the morning after they left, he woke up in great confusion. where did all his friends go?!)

saturday was split between feasting on all the delicious goodies the Amish had to offer us (and riding carousals and sitting in buggys), and a marshmallow festival. What? Who even knew there was such a thing. We drove through a town on our way home advertising their "Marshmallow festival", so we just had to stop. Turns out, that county produces most of the marshmallows in the world. We each even got a free full size bag of marshmallows to take home. There was a pizza eating contest, and a car show, and tractor pulls...
And of course, the people. You haven't people watched until you've been to a marshmallow factory in the middle of nowhere, Indiana.

Sunday and Monday were spent at our lake (also cake baking. of course there was Sunday cake).
Luke was brave and jumped off the dock into Trav's arms.
Mostly all he wanted to do was dig in the sand with a stick he found. Silly boy.

  1. Give a little kid a stick and some sand or dirt and they'll be happy for hours! Only thing better is a giant cardboard box LOL.
